Information for U5 to U8 Coaches


WHEN: For U5 to U8, Soccer Day is on Saturday, August 26.
WHERE: Hornets' Nest, on Bearbrook Road - map - 1660 Bearbrook


Teams play two games. The schedule will be posted on the Web site when available:

U5 ONLY Assemble your group at your assigned field, split them up into teams, and play your two games against other "teams" from your area.After the second game, take down the equipment and return the coaching bag to the tent beside the parking lot.
U6 to U8 After your first game,do not take down your equipment. Leave the field set up and move to your second game. After the second game, take down the equipment and return the coaching bag to the tent beside the parking lot.
U5 to U8
During your second game, a volunteer will bring you the participation awards for all the players, which you can present at the end of the second game. This is the perfect time to take pictures, so remind all the parents to bring their cameras.
One parking pass per team (coach ONLY) will be emailed to you shortly.Please carpool with your assistants. On the presentation of your parking pass, you will be able to park in the spaces reserved for coaches in the Hornets' Nest parking lot. If for some reason you don’t receive your pass by the week of Soccer Day please email the office. Parking for parents is available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Hornet’s Nest, and up the hill at Louis Riel High School.
Important: You must obey the no-parking signs on Bearbrook Road.Every year people park in the no-parking zones, and every year the City issues tickets.
There will be a drop-off zone at the Hornets' Nest for drivers to drop off players, fans, lawn-chairs, coolers, etc. once the Hornets' Nest parking lot is full. Drivers must then park in one of the other parking locations.

Pictures: There will be no professional photographer at Soccer Day. Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for the participation medal presentations at the end of the second game.

Please bring coolers with appropriate water and other refreshments as there is no guarantee that the canteen will be open.
Toilets: Portable toilets and hand-wash stations will be on-site.

Please remember-Our fields are smoke free!

Since 2012, all City of Ottawa property including parks, playgrounds and sports fields are smoke-free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This By-Law is enforced.
Board members will be present and wearing their blue shirts. If you have a question or comment, please find one and introduce yourself.
